Household Goods Industry Update

This summer the household goods industry continues to face the same obstacles during peak season as in recent years. The expanding driver shortage that has challenged van lines to recruit enough drivers to handle existing volume is not only expected to continue, but worsen over the next few years. An Indeed.com study stated that "The American Trucking Association estimates that by 2022, US demand for drivers will exceed supply by 239,000 positions, about 15% of projected demand"

Fortunately, the CRI household goods model is partially exempt from these types of industry challenges due to the exclusive utilization of our "Elite Fleet" of drivers. Although this model provides significant relief, it will not provide total relief. Your employees may be asked for flexibility in loading and may experience "delivery spreads" based on the requested delivery dates. We encourage our clients and transferring employees to PLAN AHEAD. By giving us as much notice as possible it will enable us the best opportunity to serve your needs.
